# Get 'Em Gigs (getemgigs.com)

> Get 'Em Gigs helps local bands fill the room. Two bands make a "Buddy Gig" deal — "I'll come to your gig if you come to mine" — and each locks a small refundable deposit. At the show the attendee shows a rotating check-in QR code and the band that's playing scans it (Venmo-style); the deposit is refunded on the spot. Anyone who bails forfeits their deposit to the band they stood up at the next-morning settlement. Venue Stay-To-Play replaces pay-to-play: bands commit a few tickets to another band's show at the same venue instead of buying tickets to their own.

Key facts:
- Free to join. Public beta: deposits use "gig credits" (every band starts with $100); no real card payments yet.
- Deposits are $10–$100 per deal. The higher of the two gigs' deposits is used.
- Check-in window: from doors (1 hour before start) until 5 hours after. Codes rotate every 30 seconds.
- If an attendee opened their code at the show but the host never scanned it, the deposit is simply returned (no payout).
- No location tracking; the camera is only used on-device to read QR codes.
- Phone-first web app; add getemgigs.com to your home screen.
